FOI Survey brings Outsiders press coverage
In 2009, Outsiders carried out a survey together with the TLC Trust, using the Freedom of Information Act (FOI Act), to find out how Social Services around the country view the importance of disabled people being able to enjoy a personal life, and what freedoms they provide/allow. Some of the results can be seen here.
The survey results brought press interest; on 14th or 15th August 2010 it was reported in Community Care and then the Telegraph, making the Sunday Telegraph front page.
In the Daily Mail on 18th August 2010, columnist Bel Mooney wrote:
“Organisations such as The Outsiders and TLC (Tender Loving Care) do invaluable work to recognise the sexual needs of the disabled and do what they can to help — campaigning in a pretty forthright way.”
