Children of Helen House
The next edition of 'Children of Helen House' on BBC2 on Tuesday 30th January at 10pm, will feature a young man with Muscular Dystrophy who does not want to die without having experienced sex.
Apparently, he scours the Outsiders website and researches his options, deciding to hire a female sex worker to come to his bed. This might not be the best way of promoting Outsiders, definitely not the way we would have chosen, as we are primarily about disabled people enjoying relationships, but we have to acknowledge that it was very brave of Helen & Douglas House and the TV documentary makers to include this story in the series. Plus, Outsiders is a place where disabled people are made to feel free to makethe same sexual choices as everybody else. Expect a scandal.
