The Sexual Freedom Conference, Riotous Pleasures, took place on Saturday 6th May 2006 at the Toynbee Hall
Organised by
Outsiders,
the Sexual Freedom Coalition,
the Erotic Awards and
the Night of the Senses.
Twenty five speakers enthralled an eager audience with news of their campaigns and projects.
In evidence was the high calibre of pioneers who are still being ignored and remain unconsulted
by the
Home Office
and government,
particularly on matters involving sex work and extreme imagery. Mandi Peers (pictured here) spoke about the
Outsiders V-Group and how it has been
both empowering and comforting to her as a newly disabled woman. We were disappointed that
Alison Lapper
was too ill to attend, but hope to have her with us next year. An after-party Arcadia was
held in a private wheelchair accessible club in East London.
