Disability Now are publishing an article on how sex can change your life

Britain's disability magazine, Disability Now, is asking disabled people to come forward to offer their stories on how having sex changed their lives. We think sex changes everyone’s lives but here is your chance to rave about how beneficial it was to move from virgin or sex-bore to rampant ecstatic sexpot. You don’t need to use your real name.

The Outsiders fundraising stand at Erotica in London this year (Friday 19th to 21st November at Olympia) will be fronted by Outsiders' new spokeswoman, Mikey Argy.


Mayor of Paris holds conference on sex and disability

A multi-disciplinary conference on sex and disability takes place in Paris on Friday 26th November 2010. Its title is Handicap: Affectivité, Sexualité, Dignité. It is a high profile event organized by the Mayor of Paris.


Caroline Bowditch speaks at OI Conference

On 27th September 2010, the beautiful disabled dancer Caroline Bowditch, an , addressed the delegates at the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Annual Conference and shared her wisdom about sexual relationships. She recommended they join Outsiders, and membership applications are now coming in.


FOI Survey brings Outsiders press coverage

In 2009, Outsiders carried out a survey together with the TLC Trust, using the Freedom of Information Act (FOI Act), to find out how Social Services around the country view the importance of disabled people being able to enjoy a personal life, and what freedoms they provide/allow. Outsiders provided a wonderful service for disabled guests at the Glastonbury Festival - in the form of rejuvenating massage and body work, mobile phone re-charging, wheelchair battery recharging, campfire fun, face painting, music, entertainment as well as airbed pump-ups and sterile facilities.

Outsiders Mentioned in the House of Lords

Outsiders was mentioned in the House of Lords on 22nd January. Lord Thomas of Gresford, for the Lib Dems, when commenting on the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill 2008, said, "Before I leave this point, I refer to the specialist interest material we have received from the Outsiders Trust, which represents the interests of physically disabled people. That is the sort of issue I hope we will come back to in Committee"

On 9th February 2008, disabled Outsiders members at the London Club Lunch were invited to join in a discussion on the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, and an overwhelming majority agreed. We sat around a table and discussed the consequences for disabled people if the Bill were made Law, and it became illegal to pay for sex and download and possess extreme pornography.
