Outsiders 30th Anniversary Celebrations
Outsiders 30th Anniversary will be celebrated by Outsiders members and the Outsiders Support Network with the following:-
- The Free Speech Campaign which encourages the inclusion of speech impaired people in social discussions (on-going).
- Two Art Projects: Photography of disabled people by top photographer, Ashley (who shot the picture of Mat Fraser nude on the front cover of Society Guardian) for an exhibition. Ashley can be contacted on 0207 229 2944. Katie Sarra, Artist of the Year 2008 in the Erotic Awards is doing a similar project in Tiverton, painting disabled people. - Launch of Great Expectations Highlands
- Outsiders Open Day at the Old Carwash Gallery, Tiverton with an exhibition of painting and sculpture, music jamming, "Mirror Mirror" Playback Theatre South West performance and a forum for sharing stories, on Saturday 16th May.
- Outsiders Tent providing fun & facilities in the Disability Fields at the Glastonbury Festival, 24th - 28th June in Somerset.
- Outsiders Stall and Playshop on Sunday 12th July at the Disability Awareness Day in Warrington.
- Great Expectations celebration of Outsiders 30th Anniversary on Saturday 22nd August in London, to thank our volunteers. Featuring a Sensory Fashion Show, Pleasure Islands, Extant Blind Burlesque, "Mirror Mirror" Playback Theatre performances and a Dinner in central London.
- Outsiders at Liberty Festival, Trafalgar Square at the end of August.
- The SHADA International Conference on Sex and Disbility Training at the Royal Society of Medicine, London on Friday 13th November.
- Outsiders Awareness and Fundraising at Erotica, Earl's Court, London at the end of November.
